History

In 1950, Dr. Robert K. Kerlan started a private practice specializing in sports medicine.  After 15 years of providing medical services to Los Angeles, Dr. Robert K. Kerlan and Dr. Frank W. Jobe made history when Southwestern Orthopaedic Medical Group (later the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic) was founded in 1965.  In the years to follow, Kerlan-Jobe became a recognized household name both locally and nationally as leaders in the field of Orthopedics and sports medicine after having given specialized medical treatment to most of Southern California’s world-class professional teams, as well as to patients from all different walks of life.

In 1997, a state-of-the art Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center was developed.  This Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center has since provided patients an affordable and convenient alternative for their surgeries.  After more than a decade of care to their patients, Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center has developed a reputation of their own as the region’s “Center of Excellence for Outpatient Surgery”.
